December 30, KATHMANDU : The Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) has said that its serious attention has been drawn towards the incident of a journalist, who was mistreated and manhandled in Humla district.
Humla correspondent of Naya Patrika Daily and Nepal television, Narjung Tamang, was misbehaved and manhandled by staff of Prabhu Bank, Ram Jung Shahi, and a local Jagadish Hamal over the issue of news on December 27 in the district.
The FNJ determined that manhandling and treatment of journalist was interference on press freedom and freedom of expression.
Issuing a press release on Monday, FNJ General Secretary Ramesh Bista condemned such anti-press move and demanded legal action against the guilty. (RSS)
